SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Â
Prepare domestic and international shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications. Assemble orders for shipment, count, weigh and check against shipping order, report shortages. Use integrated shipping manifest system to process shipments. Stencil or label shipping containers. Determine amount of postage and apply to parcel post shipments. Load trucks with outgoing shipments. Follow established routines, report unusual conditions to supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Â
Receive Pick Tickets from Sales. Sort through orders separating UPS & Fed Ex from Truck orders.
Â
Pick orders from stock. (Finished Goods, Parts Warehouse, Staging Area’s).
Â
Assemble orders, get quotes from UPS and Common Carriers. Compare costs, select low-cost carrier.
Â
Make out Bills of Lading for Truck shipments.
Â
Pack UPS orders for shipment and enter information into computer.
Â
Ensure products match customer’s order. Box, crate, stretch wrap packages as necessary.
Â
Contact Common Carriers and schedule pick-ups, ensuring that we meet customer delivery requirements.
Â
Inspect packed products and make sure Bills of Lading are correct.
Â
Create and affix completed address labels, placards and any other labels required for the handling and shipping of products as specified by the carrier.
Â
Pick, pack, label and ship International orders.
Â
Document and label Butane and other Hazardous Material Shipments per provided Procedures.
Â
Follow special customer requirements as necessary. This may include special labeling or packaging and separation of products.
Â
Print daily UPS and Fed Ex reports giving copies to Truck Drivers, Shipping and Sales daily.
Â
Complete and maintain required paperwork.
Â
Order supplies from UPS driver as necessary. (Haz Mat forms, special labels etc.)
Â
Maintain computer printers and labelers by changing ink cartridges, ribbons and labels as necessary.
Â
Keep a record of all standard box sizes, weights, dimensions and pallet quantities.
Â
Assemble weekly Grainger order. Set up skids for each location, make sure proper products and labeling are on each skid, with proper paperwork.
Â
Give proper paperwork and Bills of Lading for each location to Grainger Truck Driver.
Â
Send daily shipping information via computer to UPS for proper billing.
Â
Put away and maintain Replacement Parts inventory in Shipping Department.
Â
Cycle count Replacement Parts as required by Purchasing Department.
Â
Maintain and orderly Shipping Department.
Â
Other projects as assigned.

SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITIES: Make sure all orders are shipped in a timely and cost efficient manner.
Â
REASONING ABILITY: Requires ability to make sensible decisions using good problem solving techniques. Must be able to communicate well with other departments and be able to work well as a team member.
Â
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to walk and stand for the majority of the work day. Be able to lift heavier boxes.
Â
CERTIFICATIONS: Must be trained and Certified in Hazardous Materials Regulations.
