JOB PURPOSE:
Perform duties to assemble and prepare orders for shipment, arrange for movement of material to work or storage areas, and ensure that finished goods are properly identified and stocked, following prescribed practices. Direct the daily activities of shipping department employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Work from shipping orders, returned goods authorizations, follow Mihlfeld 3PL routing guide, shipping rate charts, and instructions.
? Assemble orders, check against shipping or customer orders, report and follow up on shortages. Complete data as required for bills of lading, following standard procedures.
? Direct Material Handlers and other Shipping employees to transfer products to shipping dock, loading cars and trucks. Specify order packing method, following standard packaging methods.
? Utilize the MES/Vantage system in various record keeping tasks and reports. Update Daily Shipping file in Excel as transactions are required.
? Arrange for periodic movement of recycle materials (steel, aluminum, cardboard and paper).
? Arrange for movement of material from storage to work and return to storage areas. Utilize storage space in an efficient manner. Arrange for materials to be rotated in a proper first in, first out manner. Ensure that finished goods are properly identified and stacked.
? Perform specified inventory cycle count procedures and maintain 100% inventory accuracy.
? Secure and maintain dock area in an orderly manner.
? Properly Label and package product coming from Assembly for shipping.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Maintain good housekeeping conditions in work areas and follow safe operating procedures and practices
? Active participation in ongoing individual training / development program
? Set goals and objectives with Supervisor; look for ways to improve quality and productivity
? Report abnormalities in machines, programs, materials, and processes to Supervisor
? Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
? Thorough knowledge of area of responsibility; limited supervision required
? Strong quality control skills
? Strong written and verbal English communication skills as required to discuss training, general direction and other position-related tasks
? Certified operation of forklift
? Ability to work within a team environment.
? Must possess positive, "can do" attitude.
