About the 2nd Shift Sanitation Supervisor Role
The 2nd Shift Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for managing a sanitation team of approximately 25 full- and part-time employees. This role oversees hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, sanitation procedures, food safety compliance, chemical use, and daily team workload under the direction of the Sanitation Manager.
Responsibilities of the 2nd Shift Sanitation Supervisor:
Manage the second shift sanitation team, including hiring, training and development, performance management, weekly scheduling, timecards, and workload planning
Develop an understanding of GMPs, SQF, HACCP, and OSHA requirements
Maintain and update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) for processes and equipment
Ensure team members are trained on and follow company GMPs, HACCP, and other food safety procedures
Support and conduct new employee training
Provide knowledge of chemical mixes and MSDS and oversee proper chemical use and safety procedures
Manage sanitation chemical inventory
Support department initiatives established by the Sanitation Manager
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements of the 2nd Shift Sanitation Supervisor:
High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred
3–5 years of supervisory experience
Foodservice and/or manufacturing experience strongly desired
Strong math skills
Ability to read and speak English
Ability to delegate responsibilities and work alongside team members
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
Ability to walk the production floor and stand for long periods of time
