JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:



An Order Picker/Processor will have the primary day-to-day responsibilities including picking, auditing/inspecting, and processing submitted orders. Order types include sales, production, overhaul, kitting, and hot/rush. Order systems include AutoStore, Kardex, and physical racking locations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities

  1. Safety First – follow all safety guidance and manage all safety issues to ensure adherence to established processes, to conduct root cause and preventative actions to report all incidents to supervisor in a timely manner

  2. Pick parts from identified warehouse locations (designated racking, AutoStore, Kardex) by following all directives, standard operating procedures, and work instructions

  3. Audit picked part(s) and/or kitted orders for accuracy prior to document creation

  4. Utilize enterprise resource planning system (SAP) to review orders, create, and process associated shipping documents following requirements for service level and service mode

  5. Meet daily assigned targets for job performance and identify opportunities for continual improvement

  6. Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion by following established 5S procedures

  7. Conduct cycle counting and part consolidation operations (as required)

  8. Complete marry-up of orders from multiple locations (i.e. off-site, AutoStore, Kardex)

  9. Complete audit/inspections of overhaul orders prior to final shipping date (as required)

  10. Perform any other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience and/or Training:

  • 1-3 years of experience in warehousing/logistics

  • Strong proven competencies in picking accuracy, attention to detail, and computer skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate Degree

Experience and/or Training: Warehouse picking/packing operations, SAP experience

SKILLS:

Professional Skills: SAP

Soft Skills: Social Skills, Problem-Solving, Time/Self-Management, Effective Communication, Teamwork

PHYSICAL / WORKING DEMANDS:

  1. Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety and environmental policies/procedures. Each associate is to place environment, health, and safety requirements as a first priority in the performance of all work duties. An associate is responsible for notifying their immediate supervisor of a violation or deficiency in safety and/or working conditions and for recommending corrective measures, if possible. All injuries, illness, or near-miss incidents will be immediately reported to the associate’s supervisor.

  2. Generally good working conditions in a manufacturing plant and associated warehouse operations.

  3. Moderate physical effort including frequent standing/walking and occasional exposure to high noise levels (less than 90 decibels) may be required.

  4. During summer months, exposure to heat and humidity may occur.

  5. Lifting/carrying objects up to a maximum of 50 pounds is necessary. Ability to twist, bend, stoop, and climb ladders is also required.
