General Summary
Prepare filling systems, parts orders for commercial conveyance items using appropriate shipping container and packing of items to ensure safe delivery. Build shipping containers, move and handle materials, load and unload freight, clean the shop, and perform other general maintenance tasks. Assist with a wide variety of projects as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Build or selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
2. Help during FAT (factory acceptance test) including cleaning, help run product and empty containers.
3. Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
4. Assistant in sorting, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
5. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies appropriate personnel.
6. Operates dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading/unloading supplies and equipment. Operates shrink-wrap machine and may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area.
7. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
8. Make deliveries and pick up from vendors as needed.
9. Assists employees performing related work.
10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
1. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or control standards.
2. Proficient computer skills; ability to prepare routine administrative documents.
3. Proven knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
4. Demonstrated ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
5. Demonstrated ability to detect problems.
6. Must be familiar with portable power tool and machine tools such as bandsaw, miter saw and circular saw.
Professional Licensing and/or Certifications Required: Forklift Certification
