Job Description


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
  • Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
  • Oversees project logistics and resource allocation.
  • Oversees Maintenance and continuously improve processes utilizing systems like TPM.
  • Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste
  • Helps create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies.
  • Improving efficiencies on new and existing work.
  • Improvement of tooling, processes, part quality and employee training.
  • Recommend methods of improving employee efficiency and reducing waste of material and utilities, including restructuring, job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment.
  • Reduction of tooling costs.
  • Develop and maintain system to standardize and control tools.
  • Assist Supervisor and Tech Leads in correcting tooling and machining process problems, maintaining department efficiencies as well as part quality, and troubleshooting of manufacturing problems in plant.
  • Aid in the operation, set up machines, and programing of new or existing jobs,
  • Train and/or otherwise using expertise to assist in all departments.
  • Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, parts, machining processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.
  • Work with the Operations Team to coordinate and implement goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the development and maintaining of computer programs relating to Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, CNC programs and any other, as assigned.
  • Plan use of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel to improve efficiency of operations and to identify areas of duplication.
  • Analyze and plan requirements, workflow, layouts of equipment and workspace for maximizing efficiency.
  • Report to COO weekly regarding tooling use, ongoing projects, issues and future machine capability and capacity needs.
  • Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required
  • Must have extensive knowledge of machining processes
  • Manufacturing engineering experience in a high mix / high-volume environment preferred
  • Demonstrated workflow and productivity improvements
  • Robotic experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodology is preferred
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Strong decision making, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Maintain a clean, orderly and efficient work area
  • Read, write and interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, blueprint, diagram and schedule form (English)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
  • Physical demands include standing, bending, sitting and kneeling
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity for assembly of tooling, small parts and working with equipment and controls
  • Vision requirements include (corrective or non) close range, distance, color, peripheral and depth
