JOB SUMMARY:
Operates multiple molding machines to form rubber used in production by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Makes sure molds are clean in advance.
Cuts rubber material into preforms.
Weighs rubber to ensure correct amount. Correct amount can be found in Specification Book.
Operates multiple presses.
Heats mold to correct temperature.
Ensures rubber is cut and weighed for existing job.
Looks in Mold Book for special instructions on running parts: correct press, correct steam pressure, what rubber to be used as far as duro and weight or size and time of heat and any other instructions.
Periodically checks parts for correct durometer and defects.
Checks with Press Line Lead Person for next job if one has not been assigned.
Pulls molds for next job – checks molds for cleanliness and accuracy.
Cleans soiled molds in mold cleaner and properly wipes down.
Upon completion of jobs returns molds to correct mold rack and slot number.
Reports all problems with presses, molds, rubber, parts or orders directly to the Press Line Lead Person.
Keeps area clean and empties all trash barrels at end of day.
Prepares for next job to ensure continual flow of product.
Fills out daily status sheets.
Fills out daily labor tickets.
Keeps work area/machines clean.
Records number of heats per press daily.
Removes parts from mold and visually checks for defects:
If okay, parts go to Trimming.
If not okay, parts sent to striper and form is filled out

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience or training

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three- syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of grams, pounds, and ounces.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be a team player that can work effectively with others in the department. Must be flexible and open to working in other areas of company as required. Regular attendance is required. Must wear safety shoes and glasses.

Prior experience operating machinery is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Compensation & Schedule:

Pay rate: $19 - $20 per hour, depending on experience.
Shift: 1st shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
