Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible to roll and cut, deposit into baking pan, or distribute the filling as part of a product.

• Forming and shaping products from the dough or batter, according to the specifications of the recipe, is an important aspect of the job.

• Lead mixing and baking teams in production of fillings, icing, toppings, cakes and other specialty items.

• Baking the shaped dough and, if applicable, decorating the final product.

• Must be vigilant about using exact measurements and paying strict attention to timing.

• Act as 1st shift Baking Supervisor in their absence, by overseeing general operations and function of daily production needs by leading the entire baking department and managing the needs of the team. This may include setting production schedule, in addition to measuring actual vs. projected production on a daily basis.

• Assist Supervisor in leading the mixing and specialty baking teams (approximately 13 employees) during daily production.

• Partner with Daytime Kringle Lead to complete daily production efficiently. This includes providing necessary training to team members, maintaining compliance, adhering to quality standards, trouble shooting mechanical, technical, and personnel issues as they arise, and personally completing production as needed.

• Assist Baking Supervisor in coaching and developing staff members, working with other leaders and Human Resources to facilitate positive relationships with team members.

• Work to optimize operational efficiencies while ensuring the company’s high quality standards are met or exceeded.

• Ensure that all workers on team are trained and adhere to the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

• Ensure that all workers on team are trained and adhere to the company's HACCP and other food safety procedures.

• Work to troubleshoot any issues and involve maintenance to ensure equipment is available for use when needed and properly maintained.

• Support Supervisor in reviewing the performance of personnel within the department, promoting strengths and positive contributions to the organization as well as identifying areas for improvements.

• Be willing to help other departments when in need to help carry out our mission on a daily basis.

• Other related duties as assigned by management.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Experience in Food Service and/or Manufacturing environment strongly desired

• 2 years in supervisory role

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong Math skills, including but not limited to the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide without the aid of a calculator

• Ability to read and speak English

• Ability to speak Spanish desired, but not required

• Ability to lead staff members in a collaborative and encouraging manner

• Ability to obtain information and take a proactive approach to problem solving

• Ability to work 1st or 3rd Shift with prior notification

 

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout shift

• Comfortable standing, lifting, and bending for the duration of an entire shift

• Ability to complete repetitive motions throughout designated shift

• Ability to Stand or Walk for extended periods of time throughout shift
