SUMMARY:
Â
Provides basic facility maintenance support focused on changing HVAC air filters, performing simple plumbing and completing required maintenance paperwork (work orders, inventory logs). Escalates any work beyond scope to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Replace HVAC air filters on scheduled intervals; document filter changes on work orders.
Perform basic plumbing tasks, including plunging/clearing minor clogs and replacing common parts (e.g., fill/flush valves, supply lines, P-traps, faucet aerators) on toilets and sinks.
Open, update, and close work orders accurately; maintain simple parts/inventory logs.
Inspect assigned areas, identify issues, and promptly escalate problems outside this role’s scope (e.g., electrical, controls, major leaks, structural).
Maintain a clean, safe work area; follow company safety rules and use required PPE.
Communicate status updates to the Maintenance Manager and affected departments.
Drives vehicle to make purchases and deliveries of supplies.
Uses computer to monitor water treatment and correct problems associated with water treatment and/or HVAC system.

Required Education and Experience:
Â
High school diploma or equivalence
Three years in Electrical Field , plant work preferred
Ability to read and follow simple instructions, safety labels, and work orders.
Basic recordkeeping: complete work orders and inventory logs (paper or computer).
Effective basic communication in English (written and verbal).
Safe use of ladders and common hand tools.
Basic math for counts, simple measurements, and inventory.

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs occasionally; up to 25 lbs frequently; up to 10 lbs regularly.
Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Heavy work: Activities will involve frequent standing and walking, and communicating verbally and in writing. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Correct visual acuity to 20/20. Physical ability to move body quickly in order to avoid moving mechanical parts and/or heavy machinery.

The work environment is frequently within the manufacturing and distribution plant consisting moving mechanical parts or heavy machinery, vibrations, fumes, unpleasant odors, dust, poor ventilation chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, and moderate to loud noise while in the plant or travelling for work. Work during evenings and weekends as needed.
