Buyer/Planner
Summary of Position
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning production builds based on customer orders and build-to-stock scenarios, following up with suppliers on late purchase orders, and placing new orders to ensure material is available for production.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and production schedules to create purchase orders and work orders.
Support the timely and accurate delivery of products or services to end customers.
Utilize company ERP system for inventory management and schedule optimization.
BOM and Router Entry experience.
Support Production, Engineering, Quality, and Material Teams.
Manage inventory pipelines from NPI to manufacturing.
Purchase raw materials, components, and services to meet production and customer requirements.
Maintain inventory levels within a specific budget.
Maintain relationships with vendors.
Review ROPs or Kanban Quantities and adjust accordingly based on business needs.
Implement/Support a KANBAN/PULL system for parts replenishment to the production line, including the automatic backflushing of mandatory parts.
Plan and coordinate all material requirements of assigned commodities and supplier availability utilizing the MRP system and KANBAN systems.
Expedite urgent purchase requisitions when mission-essential items are needed immediately.
Identify critical long-lead items, provide input on BOM construction, and support project cost-management initiatives.
Support ISO processes to help maintain the integrity of the system.
Stay current with changing technologies (i.e., computer software).
Follow all existing company policies and procedures.
Other duties or projects as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
5+ years in a Lean Manufacturing Environment
3+ years of buying/planning experience
Kanban knowledge/implementation experience
Training in Lean Manufacturing and Transformation
MRP working knowledge
Vertical Integration experience
Injection molding experience helpful
Proficient in computer software applications relevant to the position
Salary:
$75,000 based on experience
