Job Title

AMG Survey specialist (Automated Machine Guidance)

 

Objectives

 

This position is responsible for all staking and surveying required on any project, specifically involving AMG equipment.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Set up, calibrate, and check grade for AMG curb machines and paver.

  • Establish survey control points for AMG projects

  • Perform level loops for vertical control accuracy

  • Utilize GPS rovers and laser levels

  • Perform survey layout on various projects for the process of construction including but not limited to curb and gutter, cut/fill areas, building footings, sewer and water, pavement grades, etc.

  • Perform topographical surveys of aggregate piles, mass grading areas, and as-built projects.

  • Review and document work performed by others

  • Maintain open communication with Survey manager and Project Managers

  • Work in conjunction with subcontractors and local municipalities to insure proper design and outcome of projects.

  • Attend seminars and training, whenever possible, to stay current on new technologies and methods of construction.

  • Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle (if applies).

  • Assist in training of new employees in related fields

  • Assist in maintenance and repair of survey equipment such as total stations and GPS machine control

 

Experience:

 

2-5 years of construction surveying or staking involving robotic total stations, GPS rovers, and laser levels. Knowledge in reading detailed road construction plans.

 

Education:

 

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field of construction is preferred but not required. Part 107 FAA drone pilots license (can be acquired at a future date)
