KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

• Build and assemble fixtures, gages, and special machines to support production.

• Operate manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drill presses).

• Set up and run Bridgeport EZ-Trak and ProtoTRAK mills/lathes.

• Program and operate CNC machines using G-code, GibbsCAM, or other systems.

• Work from blueprints and 3D models to meet project specifications and deadlines.

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and refine tolling solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 + years of experience in tool room or precision machining.

• Proficiency with manual and CNC machining equipment.

• Experience with G-code, GibbsCAM, or other programming systems.

• Strong understanding of fixture assembly and precision machining practices.

• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Operate Amada® and Safan Darley® press brakes and support the production team by assembling parts, operating machinery, and forming of metal products as instructed by supervisors. In addition, produce a variety of parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings.

Duties & Responsibilities

Daily

• Establish and operate sheet metal equipment under minimal supervision to fabricate as well as form products as per engineering drawings and parameters

• Perform loading and unloading of material by changing tools and select required machine programs

• Inspect and maintain press breaking operative equipment’s for conformance with safety requirements

• Ensure to correct issues related to safety before performing operations

• Prioritize production runs to assure customer orders are concluded on time. Maximize machine run time plus productivity

• Work from live schedule, verbal and written instruction, bills of material, routing, samples, blueprints, and control plans

• Operate fabricator, begin machine, and supervise displays plus machine operation to identify malfunction

• Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment

• Maintain and manage as well as tooling cleanliness and in good physical shape

• Inspects all manufactured parts following work in process inspection methods and ensure to accomplish engineering specifications

• Resolve quality as well as mechanical problems and repair minor issues along with equipment adjustments as required

• Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities

• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task

• Consistently produce usable product that meets the dimensional specifications of the engineered drawings

• Must be able to work Monday-Thursday, 5:00am – 3:30pm; To meet the needs of the customer’s occasional overtime may be required. The company will try and give as much notice as possible

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• 2+ years set-up and operating experience, preferably with Amada® HFB-FBD or Safan Darley® equipment

• Solid background working with sheet metal

• Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance

• Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal and metric conversion skills

• Ability to read blueprints

• Ability to distinguish material types including aluminum, steel and stainless steel

• Set-up, adjust and operate punch presses to perform operations such as punch, blank, form, coin, etc. on a variety of generally heavy work having close dimensional and quality requirements

• Position and align die members and secure by bolting bottom section to press bed or bolster plate, secure top section to ram by using ram “T” slot bolts and nuts; set stripper or ejecting arrangement and safety operating devices

• Set up multiple-purpose adjustable punching dies for dimensional requirements for specific jobs

• Setup and synchronize automatic material feeds

• Operate press to produce pilot piece for inspection and check subsequent pieced to maintain required dimensions and quality; adjust ram stroke, die members or gauges to correct variances

• Use a scale, calipers, micrometers, templates patterns or samples to set up and check work

• Select proper statistical tools to maintain process control.

• Responsible for maintaining required standards of quality.

• Ability to stand for eight hours a day

• Ability to pick up and move parts up to 20 pounds apiece continuously for eight hours a day

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to communicate effectively to co-workers and supervisory personnel clearly and concisely

• Fork lift experience a plus

• Ability to speak and read English

• As a reminder, our operators need to program and set up the machines. Amada’s and Safan Darley equipment.
